The story of Montien Hainanese Chicken Rice began four decades ago when Khun Bunnetra Tantakit, the President of the Montien hotel group and a passionate gourmet, first tasted the dish in Singapore. Instantly captivated by its flavor, he instructed the hotel's chef to adapt the recipe, making it a signature dish of the establishment.
Our signature Montien Hainanese Chicken Rice features capon meat, which is brushed with a specially seasoned sesame oil, releasing an enticing aroma when served. We use a carefully selected capon, known for its tenderness compared to frozen chicken. The dish is accompanied by four sauces: two variations of soy dipping sauce, ginger sauce, and sweet soy sauce, allowing guests to choose their favorite. The rice is made from jasmine grains that are neither too new nor too old, resulting in a soft yet firm texture when steamed—creating a perfect harmony of flavors and textures in every bite.
